Spaces That Inspire: A Visit to the Home of Artist Moisés Valdivieso Cuenca
Some spaces carry a unique kind of energy — one that fuels creativity, invites reflection, and makes room for imagination to flourish. The home of Spanish artist Moisés Valdivieso Cuenca is one of those spaces.
Nestled in San Miguel de Oya, on the outskirts of Vigo, this house is more than just a residence; it’s an extension of an artistic vision. Built with an eye for balance, light, and proportion, its bold structure and serene atmosphere are the perfect reflection of Moisés himself.
Born in Ibi, a small industrial village near Alicante, Moisés has always been surrounded by creativity. Before dedicating himself fully to oil painting, he spent years working in fashion — designing shoes and leading creative teams for international brands. This dual experience shapes his approach to art, where color, form, and balance are central themes. He often describes his paintings as 'safe places' — spaces of calm and beauty that contrast with the chaos of everyday life.
Strong influences of mid-century architecture and brutalism can be traced in both his work and his home. Clean lines, purposeful spaces, and carefully chosen details create an environment that feels thoughtful and inspiring.
It was in this setting — shaped by both Moisés and his partner, Fran — that we chose to shoot our Family Collection for SS25. Surrounded by art, light, and structure, the collection’s bold prints and playful spirit found an unexpected harmony against the sophistication of their home.
While the focus of the shoot was on celebrating creativity across generations, the backdrop added depth — a reminder that creativity lives in every corner, not just in what we wear but in the spaces we inhabit.
